Factory cranes are typically pendant or radio controlled (i.e. manually operated). As a result, they rely on the operator to make all the decisions of the crane’s movement.   SmartCrane®, SmartMonorail®, and SmartHoist® use a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller i.e. a brain) along with linear encoders to the control all of the crane motions and assist the operator with all movements and lifts.
